Dr FrothIt has never been easier to make ideas happen.

Western Australians are getting together to become changemakers. They use technology to connect with other left handed hamburger eaters/ cane toad hunters/ bubble artists around the world but the human element of collaboration is critical to the booming movement.

Changemakers are having fun as they learn, share ideas and create with other changemakers.

There are Changemaker Meetup Groups. enkel operates in Vic Park where it has workshops, guest speakers, group meetings and social events. Robotics class

It is starting a new venture in the Fremantle Naval Store and there are other initiatives in the Eastern Suburbs.

There are more Coderdojos in WA than anywhere else.

WA hosted the only Open Source Circular Economy celebration in Australia last year.

Space Cubed has expanded and expanded as it supports innovators and entrepreneurs.  The high office vacancy in Perth is dovetailing with the changemaker movement as even banks are setting aside space to support innovation by creating collaboration spaces.

Barriers between work and play are breaking down as people discover new ways of learning and earning. Young Australians have been disenchanted with traditional ways of working for a long time so they are working together, building traction for their ideas and figuring out how to commercialize them.

Schools struggling to make change within the traditional education system can contact these changemakers and start collaborating today.

If you don’t know how to connect let me know and I will arrange a meeting.

If you know of a changemaker initiative in WA could you let me know and I will start up a data base.

A fantastic careers teacher may have changed my life. I've spent my career going from job to job. After washing cars and working in bars I went into marketing. I then became an English teacher. Teaching has been the foundation for a lot of my career. I went into TAFE where I designed participation programs, then into HR, then developed training programs for industry.  I taught e-commerce and developed systems to make it easier for organisations to work together. I kept going for scholarships and going back to uni along the way. At one time I became a world expert on collaboration frameworks, and discovered it was tricky having a conversation about THAT with anyone I knew!! I now focus on delivering information that helps careers teachers to be fantastic. You can tap into my expertise by subscribing to my newsletter.
